Eduardo Souto de Moura

Mr Eduardo Souto de Moura was born in Oporto (Portugal) in 1952. He has a degree in architecture from the Advances School of Fine Arts of Oporto, where he taught between 1981 and 1991. He has been a visiting professor at the universities of Paris-Belville, Harvard, Dublin, Navarre, Zurich and Lausanne.

After working in Álvaro Siza’s studio between 1974 and 1979, in 1980 he established his own professional studio in Oporto.

Among his best-known work is the Braga Municipal Market, the Alcanena house in Torres Novas, and the Braga Municipal Stadium.

He has been awarded numerous prizes, such as Pritzker Architecture Prize 2011, the FAD Architecture Award, the First Ibero-American Biennale award, and the Pessoa prize.
