Grants
In general, and with the exceptions specified below, architects who qualified within the past five years may apply for the grants, as well as students in the last two years of an honours degree course, or and those engaged in postgraduate studies the disciplines related to the aims of the congress, particularly architecture, sociology, economics, journalism, the humanities, engineering, and fine arts. Other interested students may apply, but they must justify their interest in the congress to the Scientific Committee, whose decision will be final.
Along with the application form, applicants for grants must submit a brief (120 words maximum) explanation of their interest in attending the congress. They must also submit a copy of their academic transcript and/or curriculum vitae. Finally, they must indicate whether their are applying for a particular type of grant or for any one.
The Scientific Committee of the congress will award the grants. A maximum of one per person will be awarded.
TYPES OF GRANTS
15 Grants from the 2010 Spanish Presidency of the European Union – Ministry of Education
To facilitate attendance to the Congress by students and young graduates and to contribute to the aims of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union, grants will be available to five people each from Belgium, Spain, and Hungary.
Each grant will be endowed with €900 to cover the following costs:
- Congress registration fee
- Aids to defray board and lodging costs
- Travel, local transports, and travel insurance.
In the month of July the grant amounts will be sent to the successful applicants by bank transfer to the account indicated by each.
20 Víctor Martín Grants
Free registration to congress: 300€ per grant
Only for students enrolled at the School of Architecture of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSAM).
10 Grants from the Blanca Chair/ CEMEX
Free registration to congress: 300€ per grant

10 General Attendance Grants from Figueras
Free registration for the Congress: €300 each grant.

Free registration for the Congress: €300 each grant.

3 Grants from Eduardo Barreiros Foundation
Free registration to congress: 300€ per grant
Exclusively for students enrolled in universities of the Community of Madrid.
15 General Attendance Grants from Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad
Free registration for the Congress: €300 each grant.
